Head of Lake Pukaki
Limited Edition of 500 (Limited Editions include all media types/sizes)
Lake Pukaki is the largest of three roughly parallel alpine lakes running north–south along the northern edge of the Mackenzie Basin on New Zealand's South Island. The glacial feed to the lakes gives them a distinctive blue color, created by glacial flour, the extremely finely ground rock particles from the glaciers. The ribbons of turquoise waters feeding into the lake create an abstract of shapes and color. Shreve captured this image from a helicopter over the lakes edge.
